St Jude's in Spring

Many thanks to those who supported our stall at the Englefield Green Village Fair on 23rd June (and those who helped with it). We made 254.

Many, many thanks to those who has sent donations towards the cost of repairs to the clock on the Church tower. We are all so pleased that it is going again and keeping good time.

Further to the information below, Mark and Vanessa have now left the parish and are settling in to life in Lima, Peru. He has sent us a picture of himself (on Facebook) outside the church where he is now the Rector.

We also had to say goodbye (though perhaps not completely) to Becky Ryland-Jones who has been our organist for quite a while now.

Congratulations to the Revd Mark Ewbank (our Vicar) on his appointment as Rector of the Cathedral Church of the Good Shepherd in Lima, Peru. Mark will be taking up this appointment some time in April. Anyone wishing to be associated with a leaving present for Mark should send their gifts to the Treasurer, Brian Hooker at 11 Willson Road, Englefield Green, Egham TW20 0QB.

The Rt Revd Jo Wells, Bishop of Dorking, visited us for the 9.30am service on Sunday 7th January

Congratulations to Janet Hopkins and Daniel Brewer on their wedding on Friday 29th December. We wish them well for their future life together. The Hopkins family (Aidan, Liz and sister Ruth and Janet) have been part of St Jude's Church for many years (Choir, Church Council etc).

Well done Becky Ryland-Jones and Simon Lindley (with members of the choir and friends) for organising such a good Carol Service on Sunday 17th December.

Carol Singing will be on Thursday 21st December meeting at St Jude's Church at 7.00pm.

The popular Crib Service will be on Christmas Eve at 4.00pm - details of all the Christmas Services may be found on the front page and in December's Newsletter.

We were delighted to have so many boys and girls from the uniformed groups in Church on Remembrance Sunday (12th November). The collection amounted to £250 which we will be sending to the Royal British Legion.

Christmas Market will take place in the Village Centre on Saturday 25th November from 2.00pm
